……

Thank you to the publisher, Quercus Books, for inviting me to be a part of the blog blast for Jo Spain’s latest novel, The Last to Disappear.

……

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A small town. A frozen lake. Three missing women. One body.

When young London professional Alex Evans is informed that his sister’s body has been pulled from an icy lake in Northern Lapland, he assumes his irresponsible sister accidentally drowned. He travels to the wealthy winter resort where Vicky worked as a tour-guide and meets Agatha Koskinen, the detective in charge. Agatha is a no-nonsense single mother of three who already thinks there’s more to Vicky’s case than meets the eye.

As the two form an unlikely alliance, Alex also begins to suspect the small town where his sister lived and died is harbouring secrets. It’s not long before he learns that three other women have gone missing from the area in the past and that his sister may have left him a message.

On the surface, Koppe, Lapland is a winter wonderland. But in this remote, frozen place, death seems only ever a heartbeat away.

MY REVIEW:

Jo Spain has done it again with another edge-of-your-seat, addictive read that will have you hooked as you become immersed in the story. I have read novels previously by Jo Spain and have loved each and every one of them so I was thrilled to get a copy of this one to read and share my thoughts with everyone.

There are so many secrets and lies going on and I loved that about this book. I enjoyed how it kept me guessing throughout, as I was trying to determine what was going to happen next. Full of dark suspense and mystery, this book will have you hooked. A definite must read that you need to get your hands on.

I really enjoyed the no-nonsense character Agatha. She was the detective on the job and was one of the main characters in the book. She was a very likable character and I enjoyed reading about her as she tries to uncover the mystery of what happened. I can would love to read more about her character.

Well done Jo. I am looking forward to seeing what you come out with next.
