Five lives stand in its way.
Who will stop it… or unleash it?For generations, the Seven Prophets guided humanity. Using their visions of the future, they ended wars and united nations―until the day, one hundred years ago, when the Prophets disappeared. All they left behind was one final, secret prophecy, foretelling an Age of Darkness and the birth of a new Prophet who could be the world’s salvation . . . or the cause of its destruction. As chaos takes hold, five souls are set on a collision course:
A prince exiled from his kingdom.
A ruthless killer known as the Pale Hand.
A once-faithful leader torn between his duty and his heart.
A reckless gambler with the power to find anything or anyone.
And a dying girl on the verge of giving up.
One of them―or all of them―could break the world. Will they be savior or destroyer? Perfect for fans of Throne of Glass, Children of Blood and Bone, and An Ember in the Ashes.
This book was addictive from the very first page. We are introduced to 5 young people, all with various powers, skills, and abilities. I loved how the chapters in this book alternated back and forth from all 5 of the main characters perspectives. All the characters were fun to read about and learn about their various personalities. They all bring something different and are very likable in their own ways. What do these 5 young people have in common? They are all about to come together in a way they never thought possible or could have seen coming.
As you read the chapters you can’t help but enjoy reading about these characters. They fight for what they believe in, they are brave, bold and very charismatic. They are faced with many decisions that could affect those around them and the world as they know it. Will they make the right choices and be able to save their world?
You will become immersed in this magical world and characters as you fly through these pages. I really enjoyed this book and am very much looking forward to the next book in the serie . With an ending that will leave you wanting to know more, you’ll love this book.
MY RATING: 5/5 stars
