Thank you to Ann Marie and Lori from Get Red PR and Berkley for this free finished copy of Somebody’s Daughter by David Bell.

This was the first book by David Bell that I have read and after hearing so many wonderful things about this book and reading great reviews on it I was excited to finally get the chance to read it. I was not disappointed! This book lived up to all the hype I’ve been reading about and I am now a fan of David Bell’s novels.

One quiet evening while Michael Frazier and his wife Angela are thinking about their upcoming getaway trip together there is a knock at the door. Who could it be? They never get knocks on their door, especially in the evening. Michael gets up to answer the door and is surprised to see who is there looking back at him. It is his ex-wife, Erica. Why is she there after all this time? They divorced 10 years ago. What could she possibly want?

Confused and shocked, Michael is unsure what to do or say. Erica tells Michael she needs his help. Erica’s 10 year old daughter Felicity is missing, and she wants Michael to help find the girl. Michael tells her to contact the police to her find her missing daughter, but Erica insists that Michael help her. After a while, Erica tells Michael that Felicity is his daughter.

Michael is floored. How could she be his daughter? Erica hadn’t been pregnant when they separated all those years ago… Was she? And if she was, why didn’t she tell him him that he had a daughter until now? Should he believe her?

This book was so interesting from the very first page. It reeled me in and kept my interest throughout, and I was unable to put it down as I found myself wanting to know what would happen next. This story is full of lies, betrayal, secrets and deception – I loved it!!

Be sure to sit tight for a roller coaster of a ride as you read through the chapters of this book and it takes you on a ride of your life! This book was fabulously written in a way to capture the audience and to keep them wanting to turn the pages to learn more. I loved reading about all the secrets and deception in the book, and learning about Erica and Michael’s life when they were married. We also learn about Michael and his family when he was growing up and some heartache and events they experienced.

Where could Felicity have disappeared? Did she run away or has she been kidnapped? Who could have taken her? I suspected many people at different times throughout the book only to be proven wrong time and time again. I was shocked many times throughout the book and I loved it! Just when you think you know what has happened to Felicity more information comes to light that makes you question what you thought you knew.

Be sure to pick this book up and give it a read. You will not be disappointed. This book deserves all the stars. Well done David Bell. I’ll be on the look out for your other books.
