Weekend Book Haul

20180515_145818Hey everyone! For me I just LOVE to walk into a book store or a library! It’s my happy place and I feel like a little child on Christmas morning haha 🙂 So this weekend I went to our local library to see what books were available and to renew my library card and then I decided to go to our local Indigo store to have a look around. The photo above is my recent book store BOOK HAUL!! I am so excited to read these books! I have heard so many great reviews on these books and I don’t know which one to read first.

Have you read any of the above books? Which one do you think I should begin reading first?

Have you read anything great lately that you think I should pick up next at my next book haul? Let me know! 🙂

Happy reading!

Michelle

Book Review: The New Girl by Ingrid Alexandra

In this book a new girl name Rachel moves into a spare bedroom of the flat when Mary lives. This new girl seems strange and everyone is weary of her, except for Mary. This new girl Rachel seems to have a lot of things in common with Mary  where they grew up, etc and Rachel seems to know quite a lot about Mary. Is this strange? How does this new girl know so much about Mary?

This book for me started off a bit slow but began to pick up the pace. It was interesting to read all of the twists and turns in the book, as the story unfolded and began to answer some of the questions that keep you guessing. A great psychological thriller and it has a great twist near the end, which quite what I had expected which I really enjoyed.

Exploring the depths the human mind will go to, to protect you from trauma, betrayal, and hurt.

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon Books UK for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Book Review: 11 Missed Calls by Elisabeth Carpenter

Debbie died 30 years ago, or did she? What happened on the night that Debbie disappeared? Did she run away? Did she pass away? A great novel full of love, family life, stress, family secrets, betrayal and twists. This book is cleverly written from two points of view – from the daughter Anna and the mother Debbie. A great psychological thriller that is sure to please fans of this genre.

This is my first book read by Elisabeth Carpenter and I really enjoyed it. This book takes you on a journey from past to present as the story of what really happened on that night in question 30 years ago unfolds and you begin to put the pieces of the puzzle together one by one.

This book has lots of twists and turns, keeping you reading late into the night and not wanting to put it down as you are wanting to know what happens next. Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher Avon for an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Book Review: Girls’ Night Out by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke

3 best friends, or are they?! … Do you know who your friends are? What they are capable of? The lengths and limits they would go to?

Gripping, intense, thrilling and shocking! This book was amazing! Just when you think you have it all figured out, think you know all the answers, you learn more… piece by piece leaving you not sure of anything at all.

I enjoyed how this book was written from 3 points of view, one for each of the main characters in the book – Ashley, Lauren and Natalie. Read as the story unfolds, from the point of view of one woman at a time, as the story is told bit by bit and jumps back and forth in time – from the day after, to a few days after, to a few days before and even the same day in question. I love how it was written this way.

Even to the very last page this book had be reading late into the night, as I put all the pieces together to solve the final puzzle.

A great read if you love intense thrillers! This is a great book for you!

This was a book that had me hooked from the first page. It was so well written, great description of the characters and their lives and how they think and it takes you on a journey into the lives of the main characters Daniel, and Luna as you watch their story unfold. You feel like you know the characters well and their personalities and feel as though you are there in the book with them. You can’t help but fall in love with the characters in this book as you read how their love story unfolds.

Book Review: Three Secrets by Clare Boyd

In this book you will follow the story of a woman named Francesca and her relationship with her husband Robert, and her in-laws: The Tennant family. The Tennant family are dysfunctional and carry secrets from the past, and you slowly learn those secrets as the story unfolds.

As the cover of the book states: A terrible secret killed your husband, but which one? This book was very enjoyable and I loved reading about the main characters and getting a sense of their personalities, emotions, and what makes them tick. There are quite a few shockers in the book right through to the very end that leave you shocked.

Definitely a page-turner, edge-of-your-seat type of thriller that is a must to add to your book collection! I definitely recommend this book, you won’t be disappointed!

WOW! What a fabulous book. If you enjoy psychological thrillers that have you guessing what is going on only to find out you were completely wrong, then this is the book for you! From all the twists and turns in the storyline, the complex characters in the book, and watching the main character’s story unfold this is a must read to add to your collection.

It was interesting to read about the main characters mental illness and the extent the human mind will go to in order to protect itself from overwhelming loss and grief. Totally didn’t expect the few twists at the end of the book! Left me speechless. Loved it!

This book had me hooked from the very start. A true page-turner that had me reading late into the night to find out what happens next. I loved reading about the different characters in the book and their relationships with one another.

It was interesting to read about Emily and Adam’s relationship, and the dynamics of it. The ups and downs and the mind games, especially from the seemingly monster mother-in-law.

Very well written and loved this book. I highly recommend it! A must-read! Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
